Guess where we spent the first night of our trip?

Air travel is so much fun...and so reliable!!!  (He said with the most sarcastic voice possible.)

The answer to the title question is - back home in Georgetown, TX.

Our flight out of Austin had a series of successive delays until it was nearly 3 hours behind schedule.  Short version - no way we'd make our connecting fight to Porto.  So...after considering a variety of unsavory alternatives, we chose to return home, sleep in our own bed and try it again the next day.

The good news is that we had originally booked ourselves in 2 days early, so we had a day to burn in case something went wrong.  Well, wrong it went and burn it we did.  The itinerary change was at no extra cost and basically painless - except for wasted time and the lack of the opportunity to spend an extra day bumming around Porto with our hiking buddies.

No need to pack, pick out something to wear on the plane, etc., tomorrow.  Just rinse and repeat.

I guess we faced out first Camino challenge.  I suspect there'll be more.  Stay tuned.
